Noob
After lurking around the TRF, for a few weeks, I felt that I had absorbed enough knowledge to purchase my lifelong dream. I took the plunge and ordered what I felt was a good buy on a seldom worn two and a half year old 42mm Explorer, Polar. I have only wanted a white faced Explorer since I first saw one many years ago.
The watch arrived with sleeve, box and papers none to soon. It felt like 5 days was forever to get here from Pa. After a thorough washing which it desperately needed, it shown like a new dime in a goats a-hole. Because I wear my watch on my right wrist and work in front of a computer all day, my buckles always get scratched up from moving the mouse around. So, I took the bracelet off and put a Kevlar band on my new watch in order to keep the bracelet pristine just in case I ever decide to part with it. (Not likely at this point.) I have ordered a replica Glidelock Clasp and plan on attaching it to a RubberB band which can get scratched to hell and back without doing any real damage. The advise I garnered from the Rolex Forum was invaluable in making my purchase decision. I look forward to sharing that knowledge in future posts. |
