Warranty claim

Hi I have an omega seamaster professional chrono and it was losing time and the pins on the strap where working themselves loose. So under warranty I put it in to be repaired at the omega boutique in Glasgow on the 17th of February. But I still do not have it back this to me is an incredible amount of time to have a watch for a fairly simple repair. Should I expect some compensation for this?

6 to 8 weeks is normal. After that, I'd start getting annoyed

I've had to warranty repairs done by Rolex, and both where completed in a week.

Omega factory service tends to be quite slow, but has always done good work for me. Omega NJ had an Aqua Terra of mine for 4 months. That wasn't warranty work though. Hope you get it back soon!

When I read this kind of stuff it makes me wonder why dont you guys google "certified watchmaker" in your local area and try to find at least one certified watchmaker. There are places on every big city that can work on Swatch Group watches and even honor their warranty. This "leaving it at the boutique" route is the worst possible way. I wish you good luck OP.

I thought it had to go back to omega for warranty.

Most people do, Jamie. But its not true. Some certified watchmakers can honor the warranty not only for Omega but many other brands. Guys need to google and find one nearby.

Another way to find is asking "where you send your watches for repair" at a nice retailer.
Odds are good you'll find a certified watchmaker that way.

You should have been provided with a web link and a repair order number so you can track the status. I was delighted with this service when my Speedy went to Seattle service center.

I sent a watch into the omega service center once and it took roughly 4 months to get it back but it wasn't warranty service.

My brother put his Omega Planet Ocean into WOS in Glasgow earlier this year when the crown came off in his hand. From memory it was sent off & took 4/ 5 weeks to repair under warranty.
