Understandable to most people but probably not on this forum were every tiny difference in a watch is like a new planet was discovered!

Luckily, we have a ton of options. Sub, Sub Date, SD, DSSD. There is something for everybody.

That is the quintessential dive watch. The one that really started them all.

You have an excellent substitute. I like it better myself.

Unless you're into saturation diving, your Sub should serve you well.

Remember the date magnification variance concerns between the GMT2 an Sub date, and only but here could I ever witness folks arguing over whether it's Submahriner or Submeeriner or Submareener, sigh. I think the 114060 is "THEE" benchmark Rolex diver and every other one builds on its foundation. I'd feel very fortunate to own it if I could but I can't have them all so just like you op I just pick the ones that suit my needs accordingly. The 114060 has one quality very few Rolex have, elegant simplicity and symmetrical beauty. |

I started with DSSD, and have always disliked the blocky lugs... However, I tried a 114060 yesterday, and wow, it was NICE Yes it's smaller than DSSD and 216570, but somehow with the lack of cyclops, it didn't feel so blocky... and it was just so clean! |

The new SD is a great compliment to the 114060. Many differences. I wouldn't want to part with the Sub.
