Possible damage due to magnet. Opinions needed.
Recently I noticed that when I wind my 116710 on the weekends after about 20 turns it becomes harder to wind ie) more resistance when turning the crown. Not incredibly more but still a noticeable difference. This is different from the last 4 years where I would wind it 40 times and every turn would feel the same.
Possible reason could be that a few weeks back I set my watch on top of my money clip that has quite a strong magnet in it. So strong it stopped the watch for the hour I had it sitting on it. It seems to keep good time, losing 3 seconds per day. What does everyone think? Thanks |

No, you cannot likely do physical damage to your watch with a magnet unless you hit it hard enough.
Your watch should become slightly more difficult to turn after 20 turns as the mainspring becomes tight and it begins to slip inside the barrel.

If that's what you suspect, your watchmaker can demag it in a minute. But you may actually have a different issue so he can also open it and check the mainspring and clutch.
