On the left is a 36mm Explorer 6298 and on the right a 34mm 6694. On the left is same size as 16xx dj. Not much difference really. |

So I got the watch in today. It is much better shape than I thought but it also looks to have been to the Rolex Service center in NY(sticky note inside box had RSC number). No doubt they prob replaced the dial various other things. It did come with 2 bracelets. One that was a replacement for the broken one. The one on the watch has zero stretch and is a 78350 Rivet bracelet. The other just says Rolex USA C+I 79? It does have stretch.
Not sure if I should just sell the original since it is broken or fix it and sell the other one. The one on there now is worth about 300 dollars on ebay and the other one I can't find a price on. If I call RSC with serial number will they give me service history? I am about to go have the watch adjusted somewhere |

Wrist shots op? I'd love to see some with good perspective to show the size on your wrist.

My friend says it looks like a women's watch. lol.. It feels nice and smooth tho. Think I will have to wear it for a few weeks and get back to you on my thoughts about it. |

A pic of my 1967 Oysterdate I paid $1200 for it a year ago this past January and got $1750 towards the purchase of my Explorer II It was a nice little watch but the Explorer II was what I really wanted so I put down another $1500 plus my trade and walked away with the Exp II that Rolex had just serviced so I have the service papers and warrenty I thought it was a good deal. I was told that due to the age of he Oysterdate it would have to go to Rolex in the motherland which would cost a lot more to service.

Hmm, well I hope he knew that. He said they were rusted in and was going to use something to loosen it up. The guy has been repairing watches for 50 years and has 4.7 rating with many reviews.

So I did manage to get the watch back today the serial is 5688677. Which from my understanding is a 1978 watch?
The watch guy wasn't a rolex guy. Should I have the movements inspected? What should I do with broken band? |
