1803 beauty from the 1950s - your thoughts?
I've been looking for a silver-dial 1803 for the longest time, and this one from the 1950s has come up. The dealer says it's unpolished.
In particular, I'm wondering if the date wheel is original, and I see only one hallmark on the back of the lugs but have seen multiple marks on later 1803s. I'd love to hear the opinions of the experts here. |

And the markers on the dial (doorstop 6 and 9) are identical. |

It looks nice, but I'd say (by dial and hands) it's more from mid-60s than '50s (the 1803 only appeared in 1959 or so in any case). What is the SN?

Definitely would need a close up of the bottom of the lug as well as close up of the lug corners. But overall looks very nice, and as adam mentioned it is likely early to mid 60's. Looks like the pictures may have been edited somehow ie color/contrast etc. Overall, the condition looks wonderful.

Agree, and SN will help pin it down. "T SWISS T" dial is later IIRC.

Thanks Darlin'. Can anybody confirm that "T SWISS T" is a replacement dial? This would be a deal breaker... |

Thanks all. I went to see the watch today, and it was indeed a later dial/hand set, albeit authentic Rolex. It's a pass this time, so the hunt continues...
