Wes, I know Football is very, very popular most everywhere(outside of the USA)and may the best team win. It's hard to believe how much money(11 billion and counting)Brazil spent to be the Hosts.....

As for me, having a very rough year with my health and doing my best to stay positive. I just wish I could get out into our Gardens and do the work that needs to be done. I'm very organized and meticulous when it comes to our Gardens and it's hard to work when you feel like crap laying on the couch in pain with a heating pad on my wrists. But I'm very stubborn and not a quitter and will get er done...one way or another!!!

Thanx for asking...take care and enjoy your Summer cruising in your very fine automobile. Do you have plans to go on vacation say on the mainland this year???

Yeah hosting a world cup or the Olympics costs a lot to build the stadiums and infrastructure needed. Guess this investment benefits the country in many ways, and should be recouped. But there is currently lots of protests in Brazil about the money spent.

Haven't really got any plans to go away this year, we was going to watch another F1 race, but couldn't get it organised. But I am gonna go see the Ryder cup later this year, at Gleneagles, so looking forward to that.

Hope you get some respite from your pain and can get into your gardens soon. Take care and hope you have a good weekend.

I don't keep track of sports at all... American football or World Cup football... but here's a nice photo of a Longhorn steer I took last fall while visiting the Will Rogers Dog Iron Ranch in northeastern Oklahoma.

Leo, sorry you've been feeling bad. It is definitely gardening time and it must be hard knowing how much there is to do, but being unable to do it!

Wes, sorry to hear your team lost...now are they done or do they have another chance to play and work themselves back into the tournament???

Sounds like fun if you can get yourself to another F1 Race this year...is there one on the mainland close enough to Great Britain that you can plan to go to???

Thanx for your kind thoughts and will get myself outside and working in the Gardens one way or another. I'm determined to get outside even if it's only for an hour or so each day!!!

Lisa, Thank you for your kind thoughts and am planning on getting out each day and doing some work even if it's only a little bit at a time. I know it will take me longer to do the work but at least Pam is getting out on the weekends and doing a lot of the weeding and planting. She has asked me to watch over her while she transplants to give her guidance, if needed and to keep her company...so things are working out just at a slower pace!!!

It group stage at the moment Leo, so we can still qualify, we have to play Uruguay and Costa Rica, we need probably 2 wins, or a win and a draw. There is 4 teams in each group and top 2 teams qualify into knockout stages.

We really wanted to go to Belgium F1, Spa is a really great track, and we could possibly drive to the track. But work, and the other guys have family stuff, we can't go. Maybe next year.

My big thing this summer is trying to improve my golf, have joined my local club and play every day I'm off work. My mates last night who came round to watch the game thought it was hilarious that I've turned my living room into a putting green.

Good morning Coffeeshop,

It's been a little while since I posted on TRF, I just thought I could write something in this thread to say hi to all of you. I've been missing you all and although I wasn't quite able to catch up with all the new things you guys have gone through I can only hope you are all doing well.

Greg, I am terribly sorry for your loss. My grandmother struggled with Alzheimer's as well and I can only tell you that my thoughts are with you and your family.

Lisa, Leo, Dawna, Judy and Art, I hope you are doing great. I've read some daughters got to wear dresses (for the very first time it seems!) and graduated, some people traveled, some talked about bull riding and cowboys, some started to work on their gardens...the usual great subjects keep coming around in this thread!

Bas, Wes, let's keep in touch. I will talk to you guys soon.

Have a great day everybody.

Don't you have some little golf balls to put around, Wes?

Yes, we are crazy to do this, but I am pretty excited about the car project.

Well I hope it's gonna be an enjoyable adventure, sure you will post some pics along the way.

Did you agree with a garage to do the work yet?

Yes. The wrecker took it straight there so they can get started. They will do all the body and engine work, and painting, and the interior/upholstery will be done at another shop in town.
