Casio G-shock that I got from my parents when I was 10. First great mechanical watch I bought after saving for years would be the PAM233. Definitely will always have a place in my heart.

My father's college-days watch that his father made for him...

...stolen when my place was burglarized... ...and I don't even have a photo of it*

*Wrist-shots weren't all that big back in the 80s... ...when Polaroids and double-prints was about as good as it got

But I digress... the reason why it was my first great watch is because everyone (including my own father, the son of a Swiss watchmaker) was wearing a Casio or similar digital watch.

And I had this radical mechanical...

A Tudor Oysterdate Chronograph that my wife bought for me in the mid 90's. I really miss that watch, which was stolen in a burglary about 15 years ago. One of these days I need to try to hunt another one down.

My first great watch was a Casio Databank. It was a calculator, stored numbers, and could dial them when held up to a phone (I think).

I knew I was a nerd, so I figured I'd get a nerd watch!

Same for me, I still wear it regularly.

I've had many watches that I thought were great at the time, but this is the first truly great watch.
