We've known that for years, Wes. Are you just figuring that out now?

Leo, if you wanna watch some of the soccer world cup, USA play Ghana in just under an hour.

They are calling your group, the group of death(the hardest group) Germany and Portugal are also in it. All really good teams.

Hi Everybody.. :-)

I didnt realize 4 pages have zoomed by before I got back.
All the pics are super nice. Wes...I think you should roll out full stop with the golf theme and change your lounge chairs to golf carts WITH umbrellas...just for that out in the sun feeling.

Greg...sorry to hear of your mom passing. Its starting to get harder at home now. My mom is becoming more forgetful as you know how it progresses. Over the last couple days she's been referring to my brother as "my son" and her grandson as "my sons son"...She does still call me by name. I can slowly see the light fading out. Even though I have nursed many like her, still hard to watch my mom go through it 1st hand. I think what you are doing for your moms husband is a nice gesture.

CARL....you came up to breath. Glad to hear from you.

Lisa...that car is a huge project. I might have missed you talking about it but how are you going to restore it? You & the girls going to do it? Its a great bonding activity.

All that I missed...I apologize. Im doing ok myself. Still have this darn hand in a cast and using a splint often. I have an appt. next week at the fracture clinic and so it will be assessed then. Until then, I motor on, one handed.
Although, let me tell you, I am becoming AMAZING at texting with 1 hand. Im faster than some 2 fingered typists.

Carry on peeps....

Ducks are cool. Nice action shot!

So, how'd you play today? Did you sink that putt? Or did the putt sink?

Not too great, had a lesson this morning, then played a round after. It's difficult to make some positive swing changes after 25 years of hacking it. But I'm gonna keep at it. That was my tee-shot, lucky it didn't go into the water. Couldn't putt that, had to chip it onto the green to the left.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen,

Wes, you can always make fun of me, you may just have to imagine me preparing a sweet master plan to get back at you! Thank you for the message as well.

Cru, it's great to see you posting in here. I hope we'll send each other e-mails soon.

Lisa, I wish you a lot of fun and all the best with your new car. It does look like it's going to be quite the challenge but I trust you'll be able to make something out of it. As for what's going on in my neck of the woods, I've moved in another apartment closer to my work and am quite busy in between my job, various activities I do at home and my trips to see my girlfriend, family and friends.

Bas, I cannot wait to see you online. I hope we'll chat soon indeed.

Judy, glad to see you back and I'm sorry to read about your cast, I wish you a quick recovery my friend.

Have a great day everybody.

Hello all..happy Friday evening. :-)
Must be summer, everyone seems to be busy.. I had an appt. earlier in the week and seems like my thumb is more injured than I thought. Im out for another 3 weeks. I hate being 1 handed! I got a new type of removable splint so at least I can shower without having to wrap my arm in a few bags to keep the plaster cast from getting wet. It was a little bit, ok, a lot bit, of a pain. Otherwise, all is going well & seeing as many as my friends as I can before I actually head back to work.
Wes, hows the golf lessons coming along?
Bas, seems like the concert was a good one. You were pleased. :-)
Carl! Great to hear from you. Happy Canada day my fellow Canadian.
Lisa, have you mapped out how you might start with the car?

Have a good weekend all..hope the sun shines.

Greg, I am terribly sorry for your loss. My grandmother struggled with Alzheimer's as well and I can only tell you that my thoughts are with you and your family.

Lisa, Leo, Dawna, Judy and Art, I hope you are doing great. I've read some daughters got to wear dresses (for the very first time it seems!) and graduated, some people traveled, some talked about bull riding and cowboys, some started to work on their gardens...the usual great subjects keep coming around in this thread!

Bas, Wes, let's keep in touch. I will talk to you guys soon.

Have a great day everybody.
Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Carlllllllll!!!!

Thanks for your vote of approval, Dawna. I do believe many think I've gone round the bend, so to speak.

Hope all you coffeeshoppers are enjoying the summer... it's been busy here!

I have a quick test for you Lisa, just to check your sanity levels.

1. Do you ever talk to inanimate objects?

2. Have you ever tried to check if the fridge light is still on when the door is closed?

3. Are the buckles on your jacket too tight?

4. Do you consider yourself sane?

Let me know the answers and I'll give you my assessment.

Art, sounds like you received the short end of the stick!!!

You did not get to go on vacation...
You are working hard, as usual, in the hot and humid weather...
And I would guess you will be rewarded by being handed the bill for the trip.....
And if you're lucky, you will receive a gift of a T-Shirt!!!

I think a trip to the Rolex Boutique is in order...to see if any of their watches will fit on and over your wrist!!!

Take care.....Leo

Which watch did you decide to purchase? And is it adorned with precious metals and shiny, sparkly rocks???

I understand what Art's saying... sometimes it's nice to have the house to yourself. I'm trying to convince Violet to go with Dave, June and Phoebe to Kansas City for a few days. It would be heaven to be free of parenting responsibilities for a while.

We're leaving soon for a family vacation... I'm looking forward to it, but it's always a lot more work when traveling with kiddos.

You could always pick up a hybrid Casio G-Shock they are very reasonably priced. I bought the one(I do not remember the reference number or name of it)which has an Analog Dial with hands and small circles(windows)for the digital functions three years ago. If you can catch the right Spring sales at Kohl's you can use your accrued sale's coupons with varying percentages off on one retail priced item. By using them all at once you can buy it at a steal. The watch automatically sets the time daily to the Atomic Clock located in Colorado. And absorbs all types of light sources which stores up the energy needed to operate the watch. It had a retail of $135.00USD but with their multiple sale percentages off.....it cost me including tax at about $81.00USD.........

This way you are not breaking the bank and gives you another watch to wear while working or do what I did and that's for use while exercising!!!
