While they talk about the significance of analog dials to the human mind, it's interesting that modern F1 cars (and some modern sports cars) utilise "shift lights" to aid gear changing rather than relying solely on an analog tachometer.
Enjoyable read though. With a 55 second trip like that it gives a new meaning to "Gone In 60 Seconds" !! |

I saw a video of the project engineering.
The issue is not the 1000mph target. The problem is stability and avoiding the dips which at 1000mph don't need to be very large.
