Bergeon pliers blades too wide...
So after I received my (slightly used) BLNR I ordered the Bergeon 6825-PF pliers so I could remove the easy-link bracelet and put the watch on a NATO band for summer. As far I understand this tool is supposed to reduce or eliminate the wear on the bracelet and spring bars making swaps a cinch.
However when I received the tool the forks did not quite fit into the channels of the new easy-link bracelets spring bar channels. I used a caliper and indeed they did measure the 1.4mm stated in the description on Otto Frei but the channels in the bracelet measured 1.25mm. Since I really wanted to switch to the NATO I used a knife sharpening stone to carefully hone the 1.4mm tips down to 1.2mm, and was able to get the bracelet off with only a few minor scratches but since the "teeth" of the tip were significantly reduced it was not easy or anything like the experience I've had removing other bracelets. My question is does anyone here know where I can order the proper 1.2mm fork/tips to easily and properly remove the current gen. Rolex bracelets? I'd also like to order some spare spring bars, thanks! |

Same problem here. I thought the fine tips were supposed to fit the new bracelets. I was thinking about filing them down as well. Not sure where to get smaller tips.

See if these are the ones you are looking for :
search orfei.com for 6825 and I believe you'll find some 1mm FF forks also http://www.watch-tool.de/html/bracelet_tools.php I ordered a 6825 clone from esslinger.com and it came with both PF and FF forks. |

The "FF" tips are the ones that came with my tool, I need 1mm-1.2mm OUTSIDE width tips.

YES - sent mine back! - On a scale of 1 to 10 it's a 4. IMO an overly cumbersome and overly expensive not quite right piece of junk. This is blunt, but this is the way I feel. Others may like it, but if they are being real they SHOULD acknowledge - that it could be a LOT better and a LOT cheaper! Fine Forks...... Please!

Look on line and buy an oversize pair of steel tweezers. I got mine at Pep Boys. Now bend them open and then bend then in near the tips. Trim the tips with a dremmel (?) tool or grinder so they fit. Easy to manipulate/handle - Cost $3.00 and works better than this piece of crap.

Im with you. I have the normal tool with the F attachment. Its great for all other straps however the OEM bracelet is not possible. I have a small flathead micro screwdriver that I use. Its a pain in the A$$.
All it means is my NATO and leather strap now see more time than my bracelet on my BLNR |

For some reason I had assumed the FF tips would work with our bracelets. Obviously not. The fine tips (1mm) on this one do. http://www.esslinger.com/watch-brace...nd-pliers.aspx

If you use a file to slim the ends down its a pretty quick fix. Then stone them after your done filing if your motivated :)
