Bracelet Screw Help Please
I am trying to replace two screws which an AD screwed up on my SS Daytona 116520 (in another town i no longer live in). I don't want to deal with the AD here, plus they are not close to me. I have found several well known resellers that offer "oem quality" screws (Esslinger, Ofrei, etc). However, they all need measurements of the thread, the head and the length. I don't have anything precise enough to do this. Does anyone know what these measurements are? Again it's the newest style SS Daytona 116520.
This is the kind of info they need; Thread / Diam / Length: / .80 / .95 / 8.80 And I have asked, all said Rolex doesn't give out that data any longer.

My suggestion is not to even try that route. Use a watchmaker who has a Rolex parts account. You don't need all that data then.
Also the watchmaker can just mail those screws to avoid a commute.

Any recommendations on who (watchmakers) to contact?

Rik or Vanessa here on TRF. Otherwise you can use online watchmaker directories filtered to your area.

Brent, interestingly, I have the same watch (black dial 116520) and have just had the same experience. I took my watch to an "experienced" jeweler at a local watch shop and the guy butchered two of my screws and also kindly added some new scratches to my NEW Daytona. hahaha... Okay, I wasn't laughing yesterday, but today I find it funny.
I mind scratches, especially when they're from an arrogant, grumpy old man, who handled my new watch like a Casio G-Shock. But I also accept that they will happen, and that he only added what I would've added during the next few weeks. So...lesson learned. In regards to your question about replacement screws, this may not exactly help you, but I at least wanted to share with you the information I was able to find. First off, I did call RSC in Dallas and in Beverly Hills and they both inform me that any AD should be able to order the screws for me. I asked more technical questions as the the size and fit of the screws, but their front line phone people would have had to ask a technician to get the proper answers so I left it at that. After the call, I took my watch to an AD and spoke with the on-premises watchmaker. Unfortunately, he did not have any of the replacement screws in stock, but told me it would not be a problem to order new ones and proceeded to collect some information from me. He required: Model # Serial # Bracelet # He then informed me that it would take 1-2 weeks to receive the parts. In regards to how the pins will fit, since this is a concern I've read on previous forum posts, he tells me: 1. There's a chance the replacements will fit perfectly. 2. There's a chance they'll be slightly shorter than needed, which is fine. 3. There's a chance they'll be slightly longer, but if so, he'll shave down the threaded part to the correct length. He informed me this is the normal procedure to properly fit replacement screws. Lastly, he was also kindly appalled at the condition of the screws and promised that it wouldn't happen when he works on my watch. :) Nice guy. Hope this helps in some way, if anything, knowing that someone else had the exact same thing happen to them and their SHINY, NEW, $12,000.00, DAYTONA, GRAIL, BABIED FOR TWO WEEKS, watch. :) Cheers!

Yea i know the feeling, mine was only a WEEK OLD! And yes, he gave me a few scratches as well (I have since carefully polished them out). Thanks for this and the information from everyone. I will take this advice and fix it myself. You would think a Rolex AD would know how to change a freaking link without destroying the screw and the bracelet...I didnt buy it there, but needless to say I wont be going back there. Thanks again all.

It is a very simple DIY job if you purchase a good screwdriver like a Swiss Bergeon from Amazon. I sized my new Hulk the day FedEx delivered it, and did not mess up any bracelet screws or scratch the watch. Too many horror stories here about careless monkeys messing up folks new Rolexes.
