Interestingly enough I've been going through the opposite - I have a good sized wrist and have been slowly unloading Panerai 47mm models in lieu of a new sub c, BLNR, and now SD 4000. This has been going on over the last 2 months as I've fallen back in favor of Rolex. I put on my Oris pro dive watch yesterday digging it out in preparation for a trip and couldn't believe how big it looked and felt! Point is - I think you acclimate quickly in either direction. Put down the big boys for a week and wear your Rolex and post again!

You're spoiled! Do you know how many men who can't afford a Rolex that would wear a 40mm Rolex watch with pride? Just suck it up guy.

The DSSD, the 42mm Explorer 2, and Panerai has ruined me. The 40mm looks like a woman's watch on my wrist to me now.

That wrist would look good with 36mm as well. Let alone a 40mm sub.

Aa 36mm DJ and a 40mm Sub have the same dial size and hands. Don't think the bigger case will improve reading the dial

No prob but I did not search, just looked up 'threads started by user' and the first I saw saying 'pics' I shared, took me less time than typing this reply

Usually it's the small to normal sized individual that feels the need to let the world know the 36-40 size is small and will not do anymore or better yet, is for a woman

Quite frankly, I think that the 42mm EXP looks too big on that wrist.

Based on what I've read on various forums, it seems like a good percentage of those complaining about small diameter sizes have average to smaller than average sized wrists.

I read about people with 6.5" wrists opting for the XL Planet Ocean because the 42mm version is too small.

The Nautilus is another at 40mm but with its square shape and wide lugs wears like a 42mm and my subc.

Correct Neil. Case width is so misleading. Watches with a a large bezel appear smaller than those with no bezel and dial is maxed. It's like saying I only drive cars which are 4.5m long, there are so many other variables to consider.
