SubC stopped/ now running thanks to the forum

My 3 year old subC stopped and would not run despite a full wind. I was preparing to take it in for service when I read of a member with a similar problem that had the dealer solve it by advancing the hour hand by a few hours.
It has not run for a month despite the full wind. So, I tried his yesterday and .....it worked like a charm. Now 12 hours later, running well, and keeping perfect time. Thanks again to the Rolex Forum.

Great outcome!

In spite of the occasional snarky remark there's lots to be learned here...

Somebody needs to explain to me why this works (although I am delighted by the outcome). Something must have been stuck somewhere, but what was it likely to be?

There could have been a speck of dust in the wrong place, or perhaps some lube needed to be redistributed.

It's a mechanical device and sometimes they just need a little nudge to get going...
