With respect to the Corvette, Velitsko, the reality is that there is NOTHING in its price range that can touch its performance. Hard plastics. There IS now an option for higher grade interior, but let's keep in mind that it is a CAR, and therefore an item that experiences significant depreciation and will not last indefinitely, for the most part. For me, a vehicle is to be driven, first and foremost. And their complaint about leaf springs is unjustified, because it WORKS.

I haven't seen a corvette or any american car from close to be able to judge. I respect your thoughts but i just wanted to share with you and the fellow members what these guys think cause that's their job.

I have no clue if american cars are really so bad

X2. The Vette is alot of $$ but what you get for that rivals almost anything else in the world. As far as top gear acceleration on a new vette, if you really put the boot down you better hold on cuz it takes off like a rocket!

The Vette may be the one US car that is worth every penny. That car really kicks butt.

That older guy with the curly hair cracks me up. I love the one where he puts a dummy in a Corvette which drives full speed while he gets in a Chopper and guns it down
I agree that American cars may not be the best, but the Corvette is the one exception.

I've had mine for 12 or 13 years now and love it. Its a Triple Black 88 (hence my user name)

American Brothers....

Top Gear is great fun. The 'old guy with the curly hair' is Jeremy Clarkson...probably the last pre PC 70's-80's relic still on Auntie Beeb...well maybe apart from DCI Gene Hunt (look him up).

If you get a chance to catch the show on BBC world or whatever it is you guys have on that side of the Atlantic, sit down , have a few beers and take everything the boys say with a large pinch of salt.

Great show...one of the best Docu/Factual entertainment shows on Brit TV.

J

Ps I like American Cars...give me a Ford Mustang or a Dodge Charger over some overpriced piece of German engineering any day of the week. Engines should sound like engines...moving metal parts!!!!!!
