Rolex GMT Master II versus Tile Floor
Just DROPPED my GMT on a tile floor and the 2 O'clock lume dot popped off and is now freely moving about the dial...Looks like two 5 O'clocks right now...Suggestions on where best to send it other than RSC?
Thanks and lesson learned, take your watch band off over a carpet not a tile floor. Ed Halftime Score: Tile Floor 1 - Rolex 0 |

Yikes. I'll probably have a nightmare about that tonight.
Maybe you could send it to one of the repair people on TRF. They have great reps. |

I currently have a Tudor with Bob Ridley, two Rolex bands on their way to Michael Young and I suppose now I have to find someone to handle this one...Just hope it's a fixable dial and not a necessary replacement...

Definitely fixable but there could be more wrong than a Lume dot. That sort of shock could do serious damage to the balance. Hack the movement, and get it to a watchmaker soon.

I did that with my 16550 and dented the case. What a bummer. I would send it to Rikki.

fixable but you still have to take watch apart so check movement as well & pressure test.

GMT just back from service and repair with Rik
GMT just back from service and repair with Rik...Today's photos of the surviving patient with new facelift...Have to say Rik did a great job, watch looks like new and the pesky migrating lume dot is repaired...Time out and back about 3 weeks.
