It is arguable whether or not the Speedmaster is the Omega icon. I would say the icon for Omega is the Constellation, then followed by the Speedmaster. Moon Watch.

IMO....After the Speedy Pro it would have to be Constellation followed closely by the SMP as a whole....
Like the Datejust for Rolex, the Consellation has been a solid line-up for Omega in their low sale years. Then they got the Bond license and the SMP became an overnight sensation....followed by today's SMP Planet Ocean line-up, Omega's biggest earth shaker since the Speedy Pro. And for me personally, the PO line-up is why I got into Omega. It fit my wrist better and looks better than a Sub. Not to mention it cost 2~3k less then the Sub at the time.
