Speedmaster Pro Moonphase (56k warning)

New to me anyway. I had been coveting a Moon watch since I sold my sapphire sandwich many lunar phases ago. Instead of getting the regular Pro, I decided to obtain something rarer than the 50th anniversary model, which I also really like.

The extra sub-dial might seem too busy for some people, but I adore it. I also prefer the 3/10th hash marks as opposed to the busier and useless 5/10th found on the normal Pro.

Absolutely stunning watch!

Congrats!

I have asked my AD if he can get me one, and he CAN!

BTW.: He stated that the watch is NOT a limited production, but that the version of a croc strap can be more difficult to get due to restrictions.

So as soon as I have the funds, I will go get one!

If and when I'm ready for the Speedmaster, the moonphase is definitely the one I will purchase. Very nice indeed! BTW, is the movement a handwind or auto? What is the caliber? Thanks for sharing!

It's a handwound Lemania 1866 movt. Very sturdy movt., indeed.

Click here to read about it and also see what other movts. beat inside Omega watches.

I found this pic:

(Source on pic).

Do the calendar/moonphase pushers look like this on your Omega, too? I wonder why Omega placed one of the pushers right on the edge

The crystal is absolutely awesome, though!

The pushers are located just like in the picture. It's a strange position but very easy to push.

Thanks Bo for the link.

Is this a saphire sandwich or heslite/saphire combo?

Is the Reference: 3576.50.00?

Thanks for taking your time to post the pic. Well, it does put me off a bit that one of the pushers is placed like that. Sort of ruins the case design, imho. But still a nice watch, and I guess I could live with that small issue. I am just glad I caught it before buying the watch and not after. That way I am psychologically prepared for it, so to speak. I am not sure if this makes any sense?

It is my understanding that both the front and back crystals are made of sapphire. The special thing about the front (top) crystal is that it is not only domed but also have this raised, cambered edge. Not a feature you'd normally see on a watch of this price range. The Blancpain FF has this style of crystal, as well, but is much much more expensive at US $ 11,000+.
And yup, the ref. # is 3576.50.00.

Bo is correct as usual. Both crystals are sapphire, and both have anti-glare coating inside.

The old MSRP was $4550 before the recent increases, but if you're in the States, you're much better off buying from an online retailer. There are a few that have them for about $3200 NIB.

Besides, there aren't many unused copies of this model left for ADs to order.
