Cannot view pictures in threads, sometimes

Hi...as I make way around the TRF (I'm still relatively new at this), I notice that sometimes I cannot see pictures that others can see (as evidenced by their comments on/references to them.) There are also instances when I can see some pictures on a thread and some I cannot.

NOTE: I am logged in, so that is not the reason.

Is anyone able to elaborate as to why this is the case?

Many thanks in advance for the feedback.

FYI, I was using Chrome (and it didn't show HTTP or HTTPS) but now I'm using IE and it shows HTTP.

Nope.

For example, on the below thread in the Patek section, I can see the pictures that scrappy posted in post #5, but I cannot see any other pictures (I'm assuming there is one, or more, in post #40.)

If you are using IE go to Tools /Internet Options / Security tab /make sure Internet zone is selected first. Then click Custom level/scroll down and look for “Display mixed content” and select it to Enable that could fix your problem. But if you are using a bookmark on your computer that still links to the https delete it then save the http one.

A question Peter, is there a difference in having it set at promt instead of enable?

Just noticed that mine is, should I change it to enable?

All it would mean you will get a pop warning you if you would like to see the picture content etc but no problem to have it enabled.Myself don't use IE very often much prefer Chrome or Firefox. Although IE11 is a little better still quite a few holes so the nasties in the web can compromise computer if not well protected.

Thanks, Peter. Unfortunately that did not work either. I will try on my personal computer at home (as opposed to on the work computer.) This is quite frustrating because I'm sure I'm missing some wonderful pictures...

1. Try using a different internet browser, if it works, you know it is the settings on the browser you have been using.
2. Check your internet connection, if it is slow, it may not load the photos, so try a different internet connection and see if it works.
3. Try a different computer.
4. Go to your 'usercp' in there on the left hand side you will see 'edit options' under 'settings & options'. Click on that and scroll down to "Thread Display Options". You will see a tick box saying "Show Images (including attached images and images in [IMG] code)" Click and check that tick box to enable the showing of images. Then scroll down to the bottom and press the "Save Changes" button.
