found 4 rare daytona's. 3 x floating, 1 x inverted 6, 1 x 4 line

Hi There,

Today I was browsing the internet for Daytona's and I found what I think to be rare Daytona's. All for sale.

I found 3 floating cosmograph's
1 of those is mentioned to be an inverted 6 (I don't know enough to judge)
And I also found 1 4 line Daytona.

I don't know if it is ok to post the links to these Daytona's which are for sale or if anybody want's to see these rare Daytona's so maybe you guys can let me know. If it is ok I will change my post and inclued the links to these Daytona's.

No modern Rolex watch is rare only some made in smaller numbers now if you really want a rare Rolex then try getting one of the left hand wind models now they are rare. And today the Internet will quote most any Rolex as being rare as so called rare makes them more expensive.

Hi Franklin,

I am sure you came here to get a serious answer to your question, so I will try to help out.
The Daytona's you describe were the first 16520's to come out and they had the mentioned configuration of having only 4 lines or the "floating" Cosmograph. This is basically a spacing between the top 4 lines and the word Cosmograph.
They are less produced in comparison to the later serials, and therefore by definition less common to be found.
I am not 100% sure if they are to be described as rare in this moment, but a nice example will definitively be harder to find onwards the future. They are not vintage pieces at the moment.
You may speculate now and buy one for that purpose, but nobody can tell you for sure what the future will bring. It will always be a buyers market.

There will always be people who will tell you that a watch is not rare, and there will always be people who are willing to pay more for a certain configuration.
If some people don't want to acknowledge that more money is being payed for a Rolex that has certain characteristics, then they should check the for sale sections here on TRF.
Everybody has a different taste, and some may consider a watch to be worth more than another.

In conclusion; the 16520 is a gorgeous watch, and that is enough a reason to get on. If you get lucky down the road on reselling it with a profit, you can consider it a nice bonus. If not, you still got to enjoy the watch.

I hope this helped you out!

Thanks for the reply.
Actually the mentioned Daytona's are just not for me.
Although the next one will be a Daytona, it will most likely be a White Gold arabic numeral panda or a Everrose Gold chocolate dial one.
The reason for me posting this was more for others who are looking for a less produced Daytona just to let them know I just came across some. If they want I could let them know where I found them seeing as I am not quit sure if it is ok for me to post the link here. But thanx for your reply, and I will change my first post to make this clear.

Lol, can't change my original post I see.

The Stainless Steel models are much rarer from what I understand, especially when we are talking Zenith Daytonas. Floating Cosmograph R serial 16520's last I heard fetch upwards of 50k+ w/ box + papers.

From what I gathered there are about 50 total SS R Serial Porcelain Dial / Floating Cosmo's in existence. If that is not rare than I don't know what is. See the chart below, but keep in mind it is in reference to the SS version, not precious metals.
