During the last ___ (fill in the blank) years, I have seen GTG's be planned, some go through but most go nowhere. The GTG is a great starting point but after following up some threads, I see that the vast majority do not happen, which is understandable due to distance, agendas, etc.

While reading some posts, I remembered an idea that was posted __ years ago, this was to have the first international TRF GTG. With this in mind and also with my crazy mind being fueled by supporting posts on watches, food and cigars, I gathered enough courage to propose a couple of crazy (?) options, to share with the TRF family and get sone comments as well as a yay or nay.

Idea number one is to have a central location, in a major city (US) to allow everyone to fly in easily and have a GTG. Possible places full of watches and easy to fly to include LA, Vegas, Miami, NY. I volunteer to organize this and think that Vegas would have numerous benefits.

But then I remembered my origins...once again all your comments on my food posts come to mind. What about Mexico? I am not suggesting a vacation tour (as a matter of fact I would stay away from tourist spots); bur if a group of TRF members are interested, we could meet for 2-3 days and just have a blast over watches, cigars and amazing food.

So here are the crazy thoughts, what do you think?

You may get more participation if the event was tied to something else, i.e. an IWJG show. Here's the current calendar:

Several TRF sellers would probably be attending anyway as well as other participants and U.S. members could bring several Rolex watches without the worry of U.S. Customs upon return from a foreign country. A city like Las Vegas may be appealing and the IWJG show is held several times a year in that location.

I would be interested in one of the vacation destinations as well - Cabo, Cancun, etc. Cheers!

Great idea! Mexico would be great, but USA probably more feasible for most, I'd think.
Regardless, its fun just to imagine the many places were we could gather!
Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico just came to mind. I'd host!
