2nd Opinion (pic heavy)
Hi TRF
I am going to pull the trigger on a 5513 sub, realize that the crown and tube have been replaced during a previous service. This watch is from another forum member, so I don't want to offend anyone with my request, just doing my due diligence. Dial looks good, I'm a bit leary on the case. Based on the images you've posted I wouldn't pull the trigger, I'd ask for clearer images and specifically the crown guards both from front and back.
But thats just me! I really need to know what I'm getting into before buying a watch. |

the case looks good to me. Still pretty thick. i just think it was polished without a lapping machine which took most of the chamfer edge off. But of course this could be fixed by Rolex, Abc, Bob etc.
The dial and insert look great. Cant speak on the authenticity of the dial because im not a expert but it looks very nice. |

A little late to the party, but...
Not any great dial pics in the bunch, but from what i can tell, the dial looks to be in excellent condition with hands that match nicely. Case shows minimal wear and appears to have had a recent polish. Case serial of 1.99 mil would be correct for a meters first dial. Finished off with a nice insert. A very nice watch that you can enjoy wearing everyday without worries. Good luck.

I don't know if you should be concerned about this but would definitely be a deal breaker for me. The crown appears to be off centre in the crown guards. The crown guards also show an asymmetrical curvature on the faces towards the crown. Without better images it's difficult to make a judgement on something that could affect the performance and watertightness of the watch.

I thought the CGs were uneven as well - certainly the lower one looks softer anyway...

I think the CGs are a little soft & rounded, but could be the photos. If you put on your loupe and position your watch in the same profile, you will see that gap is slightly larger on the 6' side. In that photo is looks a little exaggerated but could be the photos. The CGs usually are not symmetrical on these and nor is the gap. In fact, when the CGs are symmetrical I get more suspicious.
