Going to Milan

I have a business trip to Milan next week, where I can enjoy the VAT-free shopping. But as I am from Hong Kong, is it worth buying in Milan and get VAT-free Rolex, or buy them in Hong Kong, as people do say Hong Kong's prices are the cheapest anyway. In summary, I have 2 questions to ask TRF-ers for help:

1. Is it worth buying in Milan and claim VAT compared to Hong Kong?
2. If so, any AD that can be recommended?

Thanks!

There's an AD right next to the Duomo, on the North side, and I think the Rolex boutique is on Via Monte Napoleone...which should be safe for you since you're on a business trip and your wife (if you're married) probably won't be with you. I was there with my wife, and I could feel the money being sucked out of my bank account as we walked down Via Monte Napoleone.

I don't know how Rolex prices in Milan (minus VAT) compare to Hong Kong. Many others here can speak to that.

Have fun!

I travel to Italy quite regularly and would not buy a Rolex there. It's not worth the effort of getting a tax refund, and you probably won't save anything, especially not in Milan. Hong Kong is your best bet, especially if you find a trustworthy grey market seller.

Take care and be alert if you go to train stations / subway stations in Milan.

I'd just stick to buying in HK unless you see a good deal.
