AP Royal Oak Offshore Diver Crown Question
I am 90% sure the next watch I will get will be the AP Royal Oak Diver 15703ST
![]() I just have one worry, the rubber clad crown and bezel adjuster crown. How sturd are they? Has anyone ever had any issues? I know the properties of rubber and am concerned about it getting brittle and cracking ![]() Like wise there is a rubber layer in between the case and the bezel! I'm sure AP have tested it and ironed out any potential flaws but it a real niggle in my mind! Any assistance would be greatly received ![]() ![]()

I have two divers. Both have the rubberized crowns. I've never had a problem with them. I haven't heard of problems with them either. If they had been damaged in a fall or accident, it wouldn't matter whether rubber, ceramic or steel. It impact would damage the crowns irrespective of the material, anyway. As for the gasket, again, I've never heard of a problem. This style of construction has been on AP Offshores for a long time.

The rubber that AP uses in this application is very sturdy and should last a long time under normal use. Beautiful watch, GL!!

It's just rubber so will be replaced at service time anyway - it's not going to be an expensive part. Don't worry about it.

I believe the rubber gaskets/O-rings are present on the RO as well, have seen them on the 15400 therefore believe they should be sturdy.
