Squeezing the trigger too soon

So you know what you want, like really want but it's a little too out of reach at the moment so, to pacify the urge you end up splashing out on another model or brand only to regret it. Who's guilty ?

It's what makes me a chronic flipper. Certain cash is for watches, not saving.

Beyond guilty - more like convicted & doing time in bland watch land. :)

I try not to make that mistake anymore. I only go after watches now that I feel are true keepers. Still you never know. I've also limited myself to a number which makes me release something. This assures I give it a lot or hard thought.

Not I...I just agonize over it for a while then eventually I find what I want. ;-)

Patience is a virtue and the enemy of regret.

So guilty! I do it all the time and end up paying the price
I have finally learned my lesson. If I would have been more patient I would have already had the gold on my wrist so for now I am Rolex-less until I get my gold

Lately I have been consolidating my collection and trying to sell/trade 4 ponies for a horse. Its not always easy and you take a bath on some stuff, but in the end I am happier with 3 or 4 that I LOVE than 10 that I like.

I Agree with this...

...I also have not mastered the art of patients yet, but waiting is my approach. I have pulled the trigger on a few watches that were not what they seemed or were advertised. http://www.wikihow.com/Be-Patient

I have been in love with a watch only to find I really did not want it. I realized the influences or the "TRF Enablers" and watching all the incoming post making me want a watch and it really isn't the one I want.

CONCLUSION: Wait find what you really want, confirm everything and then pull the trigger!

yup! But have to say doing so has given me a wide exposure to the different models to have a better feel for what I actually want and like.

I usually try to buy "right" so then my exposure to loss in minimized.

Nope . . . I buy what I am looking for . . .

Now if we are talking about a Richard Mille . . . . I might buy a Rolex first . . . .

Oh, I think I found the problem...you mean you have to know what you really want? Talk about a moving target.

At last, someone got it right!

I don't think I've bought a Rolex that I didn't really want, because what I really wanted was more expensive.

The ones I've bought have appealed to me based on their attributes, but as time has gone by, my tastes have matured, you might say, and I've been attracted to other watches that have been more expensive.

I'm pretty sure that the Explorer 114270 was the same price as the Sub 14060M when I bought the Explorer, but the Sub was more expensive when I bought it than the Explorer was when I bought it.
