A couple recent mods using Dagaz [fellow member Jake B] parts including super dome conversion kit [sloped bezel insert w/ 5.5mm sapphire crystal] and custom Murphy bezel.

Just had the pleasure of visiting the seiko boutique in NYC and thought I would share a couple wrist shots!
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Id be lying if I said I knew a lot about the references but the black dial gmt is a spring drive. Finishing in case and dial was good as I've heard. Reminded me of a Rolex, done by AP...in a good way. Boutique is very small and next door to tourneau on Madison. I was informed that they received allocations for two credor upon opening, one being a minute repeater, and both were immediately sold to clients in Japan. Other than that...staff was friendly and the watches look great. They were pushing boutique exclusive references hard but had sold out of the green dial reference beloved by Ben clymer.

My titanium Darth Tuna arrived yesterday. I replaced the stock rubber with my isofrane. I've got an orange Isofrane for the upcoming Fall.

i always connect a watch purchase to a 'honey, i need a new saddle for mr.fleabag'.......to which i say 'oh, perfect timing, we have just enough spare capital currently to adorn 'mr fleabag' with still yet another bit of portuguese leather and myself with a new timekeeper which keeps me going to work on time!'
![]() ps my first real watch was a seiko like dan has....got it in 73' isn....lost it hang gliding.... |

Anyone had experience with this SNZF15? I'm thinking about this one to be my first modern.

I don't, but as an extremely satisfied owner of two other Seikos, I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed with that one.

Seiko Gen 1 RAF Chronograph military issue watch which my late father left me. He was an Air Electronics Officer on the Avro Vulcan. If someone can tell me why it posts the picture upside down it would be appreciated.

I thought long and hard about it but the ceramic shroud scared me off. I got the SBBN015 instead (in the mail) and am thinking it may be a next purchase if I like Tunas... My incoming will be my first. |

I probably would have kept the Darth, but it's larger than the standard tuna, which meant it was too large for my wrist. I was worried about that going in, but the only way for me to really find out was to try it out. The standard Tuna is a great watch IMO - one of those and a nice monster would make for a great pair. With the Darth, you need a wrist that's at least 7.25" - mine is closer to 7" and I felt like I was pushing the limits of the watch looking.....appropriate. I would not buy the automatic version as it's even larger than the Darth - and quite a bit thicker too. The standard SS tuna looked fine on my wrist. I still have two monsters (orange and bloody), and I won't let either of them go. They're awesome watches for the $$$. If you don't have one, it's a great model to start with. ![]() |

Walk away from it during the weekend and it's ready. I'm still heavily considering the sbdx012 but need live picture to see if the gold beats out the sbdx001 (which I owned and regretfully sold). I know I could technically do this with pictures of the sbdx003 but something tells me this one may be a little more refined in its gold plate. |
