Auctionata - Rolex Only
Just an fyi, there are some very nice chronograph pieces up in today's auction within the next 1/2 hour. The auction started at noon. I'm just a spectator and not affiliated.

for starters, I clicked on this watch:
auctionata.com/intl/o/53583/rolex-submariner-ref-5513-switzerland-c-1968 and it says this 5513 comes in its original box...well, the box pictured is certainly NOT from 1968... ![]()

I have seen a few of their auctions pass by, and prices are always too high for the condition of the watches.
As far as you can tell from the pictures that is... But I must admit, they do have some nice references passing by from time to time ![]()

Interesting... never heard of this auction house and then yesterday saw they'd taken over the Antiquorum space in NY. But didn't see any watches there, just art and furniture.

The first US based auctions in NYC begin this fall. Most auction (or all) to date have been based in Germany so they're very expensive from a dollar standpoint especially when you add taxes, customs. In addition to timepieces, I've noticed wines auctions and specific types of art work auctions. They're currently soliciting items for consignment for the NYC auctions.
I observed the segment of today's auction that covered the chronographs and I believe every piece sold for less than the estimated price for that piece. I noted a few: Auction # 37 - 1968 (55k Euro) 38 - 1972 (60k) 39 - 1955 (16k) 40 - 1945 (20k) 41 - 1940 missed this one 42 - 1947 (20k) 43 - 1935 (35k) 44 - 1946 (16k) |

Some Omani pieces were a deal. What was the auction house %?
