Tudor resale value

Not sure if this has been discussed or not, but how do you see the newer tudor models holding value? Haven't seen to many used pelagos or thcb's for sale. Just wondering if they are going to hold value like rolex or be more on the order of breitling etc.

The modern Tudors are made in enough numbers that maintaining value is more likely than increasing in value like Rolex.

With Tudor watches costing much less than their Rolex counterparts..., I think the value is there for a watch to buy and wear now.

Here is the Tudor I like the most- The THC, I can't wait to pick one up..

If your going to buy a Tudor and expect it to maintain value then buying the new ones is not a good idea.

I would go vintage submariner, especially the blue ones. I want a blue snowflake but I currently have a blue 79090 that I really like.

I think the THC holds its value well if you buy right. Can get the grey one in Hong Kong, BNIB, for 3.2k now, and I have seen used ones going for more than that online. Most importantly, if course, it's a really great watch.

Ok a lot of good info here. .. I'm already planning on picking up thcb next , and am extremely impressed with the quality of tudor. They seem like one of the better values in watches. . Can't believe I'm saying it but $ for $ pound for pound tudor might make me happier than Rolex.

Vintage Tudor Subs are doing well, and rare, the new models I expect wont do worse than a general Rolex, but with a low start point the $ decline would be less even if % is same. The new models are nice.

The New THC in blue is having a tough time staying on the shelf in local stores. I know if I could get an older version of the watch I would expect to pay a premium. I'm sure it would cost much more than the original.

I don't buy for resale, I'm not a flipper. I'd say if your concern is with regards to flipping, then I would not expect the loss you absorb flipping a Tudor would be much different (percentage wise) than the loss you absorb flipping a Rolex.

Loving my THC in a big way. A definite keeper.

Just generally speaking. Rolex depreciate very little, breitling a decent amount, then brands like zenith you practically have to give a way. Was just curious if tudor is gonna follow in Rolex foot steps.... Btw my pelagos & BB are 100% keepers as will my thcb be when I get it

It doesn't appear there are too many deals on used THC, Pelagos, and Black Bays to be had, and used ones seem to be selling briskly. I think this speaks well for the brand and that Tudor got their pricing right. They really have become the entry-level Rolex as new Rolex's have seriously jumped in list price since the intro of the ceramic bezel models. I think a lot of guys have a comfort level for their first quality watch that is under $5k, and we've gone pretty far past the point where the entry-level guy would stretch the budget a bit to get that new Sub or DJ.

Actually I've been noticing quite the opposite. Seems nothing is selling very well right now (Rolex included), but there is a fire sale on used Tudors and no ones buying. If I had a lot of free cash I'd snap some f this stuff up.

I'm talking modern, not vintage. But $2600 a like new Black Bay seems crazy.

They are awesome pieces at very affordable prices. Especially as an everyday piece. If you buy one second hand at a great price you should keep it for yourself and hold on to it and not worry about resale. The prices on black bays are crazy in relation for what a great watch it actually is. Just my opinion

I believe list price for a Black Bay on a strap is $3100, and 10% off is very easy to come by on these watches. If the going rate for a pre-owned Black Bay is a few hundred less than street price for a new watch, I'd call that very good resale. That's roughly a 90% retention. I think that's at least as good if not better than current model Rolex's, short of the hot stuff like BLNR's, DSSD Blue, etc.
