Well, even if they do come out with a 40-41 mm version, that does not mean the 36 mm would not be discontinued you know? Maybe they can be offered in both sizes which I think would be great. That way everyone is happy. Just like how the DJ is being offered with a full size and a midsize.

Add me to the minority list. I don't like the new style. I'm especially put off by the concentric rings. Makes for too busy a dial. That's not what the DD should look like. And not sure I would go for the 40 or 41 mm size. May be too big for a dress watch.

All in all

I like the idea of a larger DD, but I'm not too thrilled on the dial. Is there going to be just a plain Silver/Champagne dial for this new DD?

You have a good point, 40 mm may be too big for a dress watch by our standards.

But if there's one thing that Rolex can do, they can redefine the term "dress watch" just like how they helped to define a "divers watch" over the years. If there is a brand that can pull that off, I know the one with the crown logo can do it, I'm sure of that.

x2, or x3 if CJ is x2. The good news is that this will improve (lower) resale on the 36mm's for those of us who like them. And I do not like the Arabic dials at all.

Be advised, I've had some wine this evening! Look out!

You are right, Jerome. The 36 mm would definitely still be on for the Asian and Far East market.

Thank you very much! I got "worried" for a second becuase all of the pictures had those concentric dials and non-fluted bezels.

Amen... I just do not get the giant dinner plate watch thing, but I am 50. It looks fine in sport watches but I think a classic look like DD's should be left alone.

They look great in the photos, but the test will be wearing one. I still like the traditional size for the DD. As someone who wears 40 mm watches for the most part, I find it difficult to imagine wearing a DD at 41 mm. I guess I'll just wait and give it a try; but IMO, bigger is not necessarily better, and when it comes to the DD, the presumption for me is bigger is not better.

I will reserve my judgement until I have tried one on,
then maybe I will get to like the dial.
