What if she already has a Rolex? :)

I'd be happy if mine kept hers like that. I find my wife's laying around all over the house. By the TV, bathroom counter, dresser, atop a pile (laundry, magazines, papers). . . never in a jewelery box, winder or safe. Did I mention she dropped it 2 weeks ago on the first day of our Maui vacation and shattered the sapphire. This will be it's second service in 3 months.

It honestly wouldn't bother me. In the scheme of things it is just a watch and more importantly it is HER watch.

Agree with this... However I feel fortunate that my "HER" has exception respect for "HER" Rolex.

It's funny, when my wife got her DJ I was upset with the way it was treated. She wears it most of the time, and just puts it down anywhere when she takes it off. After the first 2 weeks it looked terrible with scratches all over. After 18 months it looks amazing. It has a look that can only be achieved with regular wear.

It's her watch let her keep it the way that suites her. My gosh life is too short. But you know what keeps her happy makes for peace in the home.

My wife is so hard on her jewelry that a scratched up a Rolex is the least of my concerns ( not that I like it getting all beat up). She constantly loses her tennis bracelets because she bangs or rubs them against everything in her path, and the clasps break. I've had heavy duty double clasps put on, and still not strong enough to stand up to the abuse. Sometimes it's the bracelet itself that comes apart!

Has it been in for service yet? I didn't baby my Yachtmaster until I got it back from service at the RSC. When I saw how beautiful and shiny it was (and had to pay $500+) I have let my watch sleep in the RSC green pouch every night. I won't ever toss it in the leather Coach valet box again.
Maybe paying for a RSC service, or scratching the crystal, will change her wicked ways! That being said, I have some girlfriends who wear bracelets on the same wrist as their Rolex. Ouch! Thinking about the scratches make me nervous. I say nothing, though. |
