Quick (hopefully) Seadweller Question
So in the not to distant future I am looking into picking up a Seadweller. Ideally I want one of the new ones but realistically not going to happen, budget gets in the way...
Anyways... I ideally want to but something with as "full of kit" as possible. I know earlier generations had extra schwag like the anchor and a toolkit, but some of the "newer ones" seem to be missing the toolkit. I also know sometimes the toolkits weren't passed out when they were bought. Question is the following : Were the toolkits ALWAYS supposed to be given out with a Seadweller or was there a line in the sand (e.g. post D or F serial number) that they weren't issued? Thx -e |

The previous generation all came with a toolkit. I'm not sure when they did away with the anchor, but it was some time before it was discontinued.
I can't tell you what comes with the new model. I love mine and wear it almost daily. (But not today, lol.)

I bought the new SeaDweller 4000 few months ago and it only came with a warranty card, manual and box and didn't have staff you mentioned above. I also have a previous SeaDweller but it didn't come with the took kit either. |

To be honest if you are willing to look grey market for the 116600, there is not that much difference in a new or a complete 16600. I am assuming from your description you want a fairly recent 16600 in like new condition and I think you will need to figure $7 to $8.5k for a good example. Add another $1000 to the high end and you get a ceramic one with all papers still in the box from Jomashop for $9.5k and no tax.
To get much lower you can give up on the complete set. $6-$7 K will get you a decent example watch only. This is how I buy my watches as I don't care to pay a premium for something that will sit in my closet. Yes, resale value is less but the cost of ownership is the same since you paid less. |

I second the idea about the classifieds being a good source.

Yeah still debating saving the pennies for the 4000.
So takeaway is the 16600's was supposed to have the toolkit, whether it was actually sold with them is another thing entirely. And definitely well aware of the forums, plan on hitting those up. |

The new SD4000c has a glidelock bracelet and no need for changing links, so, no need for a tool kit.
