LOL Cool name...Found the Morse Code wine on the list at the LCBO here in Ontario (regulates sales of all alcohol).
Bottle would make a good conversation starter. ;-) A lot of times the labels will draw me in to read a bit more about the wine. |

I had an opportunity to visit Palmaz Vineyards this summer. A state of the art, gravity fed facility that was built into the mountains of Napa that puts out some amazing but very limited cases of wine.
If you ever have the opportunity to try it, let alone tour the vineyard, take it. |

Tom, beer has skyrocketed. So many microbreweries & specialty brands have emerged. I'm not in to beer really. I might have a Coors Light or Bud Light with dinner just to have something super cold. Lately I discovered Muskoka Craft Lager here in Ontario. Awesome & home grown. I still like wine though. :-)
I was watching House Hunters International last week & the host commented there were over 450 varieties of beer in Belgium. So..theres got to be something about beer. ;-) Renato, great suggestion. The colour is splendid. :-) |

Judy,
Favorite Special Occasion Wine = Caymus (California Cab) Favorite Daily Wine = Mollydooker Maitre D' (Australian Cab) I always seem to lean towards a Cabernet. I love the over the top, oaky, extracted, fruit-bomb wines. California seems to produce tons of great Cabs, but unfortunately they are way too overpriced. I have recently begun drinking more Australian and Washington State Cabs. Both of these seem to still represent great value. |

I understand that Screaming Eagle, 2011, comes highly recommended from others on TRF.

Screaming Eagle is supposed to be amazing, but unfortunately most of us will never be able to drink a bottle. Most of the cult Cabernets from California are sold exclusively on waiting lists and never end up shops. Occasionally, you can find a bottle of Screaming Eagle at auction, so I suppose that's an option.

Red wine, I like a Bardolino, slightly chilled. Love Chianti, Valpolicella or Ripasso. I just love MIP rose. Also love rose from the Bandol area. For white wine I like Rueda wines, Sauvignon Blanc, Pouilly Fuse and Fume.
Cheers! |

Just opened up a bottle of 2007 Cade Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain that has been stowed away for a few years, it's absolutely splendid. Was worth the wait.

Cade is fantastic stuff as is its older brother plump jack. The great thing about wine drink what you enjoy ...price doesn't matter.
With that being said would love an opportunity to give screaming eagle a run...heard great things

Great suggestions guys. :-)
I understand that Screaming Eagle is incredibly expensive. It's not even on my radar. My radar zero's in on less expensive wines. ![]() ![]() |

I've moved to Italian wines for the most part. I love Brunello, Nebbiolo, Barolo and some blends. One of my favourites is Farnese Edizione Cinque Autoctoni Abruzzi. This is a wine is a blend of Five wines and presents substantial body, and has lovely ruby/garnet colour. It's like drinking red velvet. I get it from a local importer as it's not listed at our LCBO. As with all of my wines I put in my wine storage at 57 degrees for a few months before drinking it. This makes a noticeable difference in the taste.

Simply...The Wine Thread
I would like to recommend a great little vineyard that produces some awesome wines. We buy "wine future" by the case.
