Icon14 For you mid-size experts, which one would you keep?

For all you mid-size enthusiasts out there, I need your help in determining which one of these I should keep. If you had to chose one...

1). Royal, "Shockresistant", "Super Oyster" crown - 6144, Case# 807***
2). Royallite, 24 Hour Dial, "Oyster Patent" crown - 2280, Case# 129***

So it would help a lot if any of you could tell which dials are original (if any) and which watch is more rare... Thanks / Cheers!

I'd keep the Royalite ...

Both nice examples or early Rolex Oysters - both redialled too I'm thinking.

The Royalite has more appeal for me - quite an authentic job done on the dial restoration too.
Missing the SWISS MADE declaration but nicely executed otherwise.
Nice that the original hands have been retained too - very indicative of the era.

Cool watches - worthy of their place in the history of Rolex

Depends on what you want. I agree both are redialed. I agree I like the redial on the Royalite better.

You have the advantage of the screw down crown on the Royalite. It's from a more collectible vintage if you are into that particular kind of watch ie. non sports/bubbleback era stuff.

Super Oyster is a bummer in a lot of ways.

That watch, the Royal, IS shock resisting and probably has not been staffed and may because of that keep better time. For me condition of movement would be of great interest before making a decision. That is not shown.

I'm not a huge fan of 50's dials.
