For 2-3 times the price you can get a functional model
Way overpriced for scrap gold content as the entire piece is garbage.
How much does the watch weigh and 75% is gold. Surely can't be 3 ounces [pure gold weight].

From hearing some of the negative comments regarding the new 2008 Rolex models at Basel, this may be a winner. They are getting a lot of $$ for non-functional watches these days.

That's the biggest hunk of crap I've ever seen let alone thinking it could be sold for $2,900.00. I wonder if any of the diamonds are in decent condition. One would think they would be smashed up also so the only value is in the gold. That can't be worth that much.

hey terry,you do know that diamonds are one of the hardest substances know to man right?they should be fine.but 2900???wow-yeah for scrap that is an awful lot.

Living in Florida means that possibly you have not seen a snowplow. This year we got 137" of snow. Our plows are huge dump trucks loaded with sand and salt with a huge blade on the front that can clear mammoth amounts of snow on major highways in record amounts of time. They weigh over one ton a piece. A diamond may be a hard substance but I will not be taking the diamond out of my wedding ring and putting it under a snowplow to see if it will survive. Maybe there is a jeweler on the forum that could set us all straight on the survivability of the stones.
