question CERAMIC
does the CERAMIC bezel look any diff than the old bezel or is it just more durable?
all this talk about the sub getting a CERAMIC bezel (i know its not true ) but other than being more scratch proof, why would people want it? |

It has a shinier finish to it and the numbers are much more bold. Its not as colorful as the Pepsi or Coke GMTs but it is one of the sharpest looking Rolexes they've ever made.

The ceramic is the latest and some folks want the latest, most update models.
The old bezel was painted aluminum and could scratch easily. The ceramic is a solid color all the way through so scratches will not show, plus the ceramic is very, very hard. The new White Gold and Yellow Gold Subs are getting ceramic bezels, as well as the new Sea Dweller..... It's only a couple of years away and the entire sport line will have ceramic bezels...

Looks totally different than a standard bezel. MUCH nicer, more finished look w/set down numbers.

Just to add, another way that these bezels are more durable is that they resist discoloration from exposure to UV rays over time. The old pepsi and coke bezels were known for fading. The red becomes a pink color and the blue becomes a purplish color over a long period of time.
