6263 with flat or ultra flat dial

Hi,

I would like your help on the following : I've recently been offered a 6263 with a so-called flat or 'ultra-flat' dial in the sense that the registers don't have the concentric circles in them.

I've never come across such a daytona dial, so I wonder if it's genuine, ie did Rolex really have dials like these and if so, in what period (I would also like to check with the serial number of the watch).
On expert websites like the one from Stefano Mazzariol I don't find any reference to 6263 with 'flat dials' so that's why I'm very cautious.

I have enclosed a picture to give you an idea of what I'm talking about.

I have a 6262 with flat registers, but they still have the concentric circles (see discussion starting around post 40):

According to Marcello, these were also found on the 6263:

Note- the dial you posted is also a Sigma dial...there is more info and photos in VRM site on this dial.

I prefer to use this distinction :
1) dials with flat counters ( as shared in http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=366604 )
2) flat dials ( no step between counters and main dial ) : these are very rare ( even rarer than dials with flat counters ).

The watch in my picture falls within the category 'dials with flat counters', but in that thread you both mention I haven't seen any counters without concentric circles. Is this a known subcategory?
