Appreciating Leather

I've never been too big a fan of leather straps.

Not because I dont like them, but because I was a full metal guy.

Been wearing leather the last month or so. It's shocking at how outrageously comfortable it is.

Anyone else appreciate a leather strap?

Yes, rubber and leather. I've spent more on straps than some here have on watches.

Really enjoying this leather weather lately. An easy way to change the look and feel of any watch.

I wear a few 50's and 60's era, dressier watches, that in my opinion, really do look a lot better on today's leather than they ever did with their original metal bracelets. Gives 'em a fresh life and goes very nicely with the overall smaller scale of watches from that period.

No, those plus a dozen or so more were made by Jeanna at Stone Creek Straps. My first couple of custom straps were by ABP. Then I discovered Stone Creek and that's all she wrote. Her quality is on par with ABP but half the price.
There are quite a few excellent custom strap makers out there. Some prefer a generic strap for their Rolex/Tudor. For me, it would be like wearing a pair of dress shoes from Walmart on a custom suit or putting the cheapest tires available on a Porsche or Ferrari. Quality deserves quality.

I like the look and feel of leather, and have accumulated a drawer full of straps. If you think watches are addictive, wait until you start getting into leather steaps

Leather is great, but I also am a big fan of rubber. I have an Isofrane that spends time on several of my watches. I also have a couple silicone dive straps that I love.

Here are my most recent three from Jeanna at Stone Creek Straps:

I haven't decided which one the kids are going to give me for Christmas and which one Santa's going to give me.

Nice link.
Check out Stone Creeks Facebook page. It has quite a few beautiful straps on it.

I swap bracelets and leather all the time on all my watches, the only exception is my seamaster pro because I was never able to remove the bracelet on my own. I wear leather bands probably 90% of the time.

Leather is great. The first here is a Greg Stevens. The other 2 are from Jed at TimeTraveler.

I must agree.

Rubber led me to leather. And at the the of the day, I think rubber gives the most versatility. The ability to get sporty with it sells me everytime.

Just swapped out my last SS bracejet for a rubber strap. I could not be more satisfied.

The both of them (rubber and leather) are just fantastic.

It's easy to do and fun to research, if you like quality. If you don't care, there's always ebay.
