Oyster perpetual date v datejust

This may be a silly question. Sorry if it is.
What's the difference between a OPD and a DJ?
I had a bi metal DJ that i flipped, and have just acquired nd OPD and the only difference between the two that's visible to the eye is the writing on the dial.
Is it a different movement?

Datejust is a model name.

Oyster refers to the case type and bracelet type and is also the name of the collection. Perpetual refers to the automatic movement. Date refers to the fact that it has a date window.

I believe the last three are just marketing/trademark names. Someone please correct me if I'm mistaken!

Wait, you just acquired a no-date Oyster Perpetual Date? That's a bit of a contradiction...

Also, "Oyster Perpetual" appears on every watch in the Oyster collection that has an automatic movement.

For example, I could say I have a no-date Oyster Perpetual and that could mean I have a 214270 Explorer, a 116400 Milgauss, a 114060 Submariner, or even a Daytona.

.

OP Date is a 34mm model , DJ is 36mm. That's the major difference.

Movment is same 3135 (in the actual models).

Ah ok. Disregard, there was a typo and "nd" on this forum usually means "no-date".

However the rest of the explanation still stands. The "Datejust" is a model name, like a "Camry" is a model name for Toyota.

Oyster = collection name, case type, bracelet type
Perpetual = automatic
Date = has a date window

I see your meaning now. I thought you meant when they all appear on the same line.

Alpino is correct. What you have there are just two different model names.
