Perhaps not on a sub or daytona though? SD yes but not the SS subs. I've never been so lucky to find someone doing 20% off those.

But 20% is quite common for TT or some variations of SS DJ and the explorer range.

Sorry but you are wrong. I purchased a brand new sub ND for a AD for £4050, retail is £5000 so more or less 20%, the only model they will not do with 20% off is the BLNR which can be bought for £5200 if I remember correctly. This is also not grey market dealers but an AD that is on Rolex website.

I must add this is dependant on the exchange rate on the day, but certainly all the SS model can be had with around a 20% saving.

I wish we had AD like this in Los Angeles. Every time I have asked an AD for a discount, they refused.

Most of the watches I bought were pre-owned and looked new when I got them.

I am fairly confident the AD will ship to the U.S. although I guess you get stung then with taxes etc.

It makes more sense buying PM rolex used, as they do depreciate more (percentage and nominal) than their ss counterparts.

Pre owned is the way to go if you want save a wad of cash. Just beware that some sellers will ask close to retail sometimes. Do your research on pricing and go from there.

i would do some research and visit some AD to see what price you can actually get. Depending on the model you are after there may be a discount to be had at an AD. then compare this against used with full papers, box etc and the difference may not be that great.

i think it is always best to pay slightly more for peace of mind. In saying this there are plenty of trusted sellers on this site. If you are questioning validity it will always be in the back of your mind...

Buy here. New, used, either way. You will still save. Very safe.

Always buy used and you won't lose significant amount of money when reselling later.
