South Pacific, Horrible Week, And Hope

Greetings TRF! How you doin? It's been a horrible week. But, I watched South Pacific, the new version, and thought about what all our parents and grandparents went through in World War II, and thought again.

Then my trusted friend, and grey market dealer called and said while he couldn't find me a 1680(which I probably can't afford anyway), he did find me an 'old' Sub...maybe,he said, 'it needs a new bezel. about $70.00'. 'How old?', I said. 'Doesn't matter' he snorted. 'Rolex like an old car, only thing that matters is mileage and condition.'

"Will it be ready this weekend?" I slobbered into the phone, barely concealing my lust. "No, he said, but you can come up and LOOK at it this weekend"

My hope and faith is restored. I might get a little sleep, WWII is over, and there's a SS Rolex Sub in the future.

For those TRF'ers out there, who like me, had a HORRID, HORRIBLE, SEEMINGLY UNENDING WEEK, think about that next sweet Rolex, even if it's not on your wrist, quite yet. And if that Rolex never manages to come home, well, hope will keep you going until one does.
And that's the truth.........have a great weekend!!
best, dan

Good for ya', Dan. Can't wait to see it. And remember, a bad week while wearing a Rolex is much better than a bad weekend without one.
