Frozen Veraet Spray

Due to all the praise this forum gave it (I am novice to the watch world), I purchased Veraet watch spray to clean my only child - SubC 11610LN

Problem is it was delivered and left outside in 2 degree weather for about 10 hours here on Long Island. The spray was frozen solid. It has thawed, but does everyone think the solution is safe to use? Am I correct to be leery that the solution may have "spoiled" and may do more harm than good if I clean my watch with it or am I just being an overprotective parent to my watch and I should go ahead and use the spray?

THANKS in advance!

Definitely being overprotective. Freezing wouldn't have changed any of the chemical properties of the solution so you should be good to go. Freezing is a reversible physical change so once melted or thawed it will be in its original state. If it was left out in the heat it would be a different story because that would have broken down the bonds between the intermolecular forces in whatever solutes are in the solution altering the functionality or essentially 'spoiling' the solution as you stated. I wouldn't hesitate to use it.

This hypothesis is purely from a chemistry knowledge point of view...

I wouldn't worry about the solution chemically changing and becoming bad for your watch. However, there may be some separation. Just shake it well before use.

Thaw it out and use it. You are being far too overprotective. You have a great watch though. Got any pics?

That happened to me here in Utah last winter...no snow right now. I contacted the owner Don, Very nice guy. He said thaw it out and it will work fine. He told me then, the cold will not degrade the cleaners properties. I did thaw it out and it work great, no problems. I am still using Veraet to this day on all of my watches. If you call them and talk to him, he will tell you the same thing.

Let us know what you think, I bet that you will like it. It's not like the stuff is uber expensive if you don't. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Joey just froze his Sea Dweller outside all night at man-Killing temps, I'm sure your watch will be fine with a bit of thawed soap.

Poor Padi. I am surprised that it didn't expand and split the bottle.

If you're concerned, contact Veraet and ask them. I'm sure they'll put your mind at ease.
