there was a thread somewhere in the archive where the Tokyo AP boutique confirmed production plan of approximately 350 units for the ceramic diver. I suppose it's difficult to say for sure what the total population run is, as there's no incremental indexing on the back of APs, the way panerai does it..

i think the run for the ceramic diver (SIHH 2013 piece) was shorter than that of the FC diver. also, the ceramic diver was supposedly boutique only. either way, production for both was probably very limited in nature.

ok - just found the link:

Was this confirmed?
When I got mine few months ago, the boutique wouldn't say it's discontinued.

AP Milan Boutique just got one last week, so it is a false news.

i have a friend who was at the Milan boutique less than a month back, and they did have a ceramic diver at the time. the question should be whether manufacture of the ceramic diver is still ongoing, or if it has ceased. AP could have existing inventory that they're still sending out to ADs - that isn't indicative of whether the reference has truly been discontinued.

I said they just got it, not that they have it.

Only rumors, if the discontinue of the carbon have some sustained ideas, the ceramic have no sense to get discontinued.

you realize the fact that the AD just recently received the watch has no reflection on current manufacture?

I'm not attempting to propagate any rumor - it would be nice to find out for certain what the answer is. It is as much hearsay to state that "they have not discontinued production of the ceramic diver" (on the basis of the Milan AD receiving one recently) as it is to state "they've discontinued production of the ceramic diver."

Of course it's false news, it's a really cool watch and I don't think they have any problems selling, it would be stupid to stop production...

Selling good does not equal to continuous production.
Look at Patek.

thanks - finally someone else seems to understand the distinction between selling what's left in inventory vs. actively continuing manufacture
