Polish the top of the DateJust lugs?

After seeing some pictures of Day-Dates, I was thinking of having the top of the lugs and case polished to match the sides.

I doubt anyone here has done it to their DateJust but if so any pics of the outcome? Here's my DateJust.

For me, polished lug tops is one of the biggest regrets with the modern DJs. I very much prefer the old brushed and thin lugs, which are more refined, IMO.

And, I'm not a "curmudgeon", either. I love the SubC lugs.

It looks great the way it is. You might lose a little gold with a polish.

Would not at all. Much prefer the brushed lugs which were oem on that year watch. Don't like to polish the lugs to make something look more modern or otherwise. Plus the polished surface shows scratches far easier.

It's your watch, do what you like! Be sure to post some pics of the results if you do!

The thought has crossed my mind as well to do this on my DD.
I would like to see some pictures if anybody has ever done this on a DJ or DD.

Polishing gold makes it smaller. It also looks less substantial in polished finish. Rolex knew what they were doing and you should have them professionally rebrushed imo.
