Can't say I have looked into it, but logic would dictate no. The U.S. does not have jurisdiction over products sold outside of the US. However, if a foreign company is selling into the us, and offers a warranty with the product sold into the us, then federal law would apply to that sale. |

This is exactly why trusted sellers will not comment on this issue in a public forum. |

It's actually funny (LOL funny) how many people are almost to the point of being militant against the trusted sellers here on the forum. At first I found it bizarre, but now it's just comical.
I can't help but think its pure frustration from finding out how much extra money they paid for their watch from an AD versus what they could have paid here for the EXACT SAME result/watch. i/e....I bought my wife's 31mm DJ for $2k less than BOTH AD's near me were able to sell it for. Yes, it came with a warranty card. Yes, it was in my name and dated, complete with AD stamp. Yes, it was fully stickered and had ALL the booklets/box/fluff that comes with a new watch. Yes, I'm aware of everything that comes with a new watch - this isn't my first rodeo. No, your right....I wasn't able to get a free bottle of perrier, high-fives, or build a loving relationship with my AD.....LOL |

I completely agree. If the watch came with the warranty card properly completed, you have a warranty- REGARDLESS of where it came from The trusted sellers that acquired their watches for a US AD come with a warranty that cannot be denied, or voided unless you, the new owner, has voided it. PERIOD The trusted sellers I have dealt with on this forum and elsewhere are not grey market dealers by definition- they are technically flippers who have access to discounts we do not have.. The watches came through Rolex USA. I have never had Rolex or Panerai refuse to honor the warranty. I was not the original owner of either and my name was not on the warranty. I went down that same path: largest re-seller in Germany, by far, watch fully stickered, warranty card filled out. After 2 years and 4 month the watch failed, took it to RSC and they told me it didn't have the original movement and dial. Outch!!! RSC offered reduced cost for service after letting me know watch had been tampered with.

In defense of RSCNYC, I was having a bit of a problem with my GMT. Began running very slow. The watch was purchased from an AD and I am the original owner.
I called Rolex and explained the problem to the rep on the phone and I made the comment that the watch was out of warranty by 6 months. The rep asked me to copy the warranty card and bill of sale and that they would take it into consideration. Shortly after they received the watch they called me and told me that the watch was going to be repaired, free of cost. They then mailed me a letter stating the same. A complete movement service was performed minus a polishing and the two year additional warranty that you usually get. None the less, I was a happy camper. Guess I was one of the lucky ones. |
