I use mine for all ocassions but it is the only watch I wear with a suit.

I believe it is "dressier", since I have never warmed up to croc strap watches I use it.

The RO and Nautilus with their end links and wide lugs, no gaps, are basically sports watches but are on the dressier side compared to say a Sub.
Interesting take on this, I like it. The way I read those types I'm not too sure there is a material difference, at least with regards to when one chooses to wear each type watch under under which circumstances.

That kind of sounds like dribble, sorry. I guess I'm saying both kinds of watches seem versatile to me. Like all-arounders

Yeah obviously everyone's definition is different and there is a lot of crossover ofc but for me a sporty dress watch does not appeal to me as I define them with strap and thin lugs, and thus only dressy sports and sports watches are on my radar.

Its why the RO and Sub are legends.....

I wear it in all indications as I do all my watches. While I have always believed the dial/case of a RO is more in the dress category the size of the 15400 does put it in sports land. So as such I will sit with the dressysports category. No doubt it is more dressy than a ROO.

I wear the 15400 with dress attire.

Wear the Panerai and Rolex as more casual.

I'm surprised at the Sub comparisons. I think of it much more in line with the DJ/DD. Not a dress watch by traditional standards, but definitely fits with a suit.

I agree too that it looks more casual on a strap (my favorite is black dial on rubber or a white dial on brown leather)

I consider it much more dressy then a sub. But still a rugged watch.
