Rolex Values
Is there a thread or reliable source for comparing the average secondary market values of popular models?

^^ This, and watchrecon.com and sold listings on ebay - all a good place to start, but need to make adjustments for condition and items included.
Sent from my iPad (so I blame autocorrect for the spellin' errs)

That's not a very easy or good reference. There is little consistency in the descriptions and there are no comments allowed or even any real idea for what the watch sold for, if it sold.
I was hoping someone had a quick reference source that was easy to read at a glance. |

Chrono24 has a lot of watches so you can look at a specific reference. The watches may sell 5-15% under their quoted price but it will give you a good comparator. If you are trying to look at past models to determine future high value items, it probably will not work, the models worth big dollars now like the early Newman Daytona were not very popular in their day.
If you want a safe long term investment a no date sub, a pepsi/coke GMT or a first generation sea dweller might all work for you.

Thank you each for your response. Was hoping to get a feel for DeepSeas, two tone ceramic GMTs/Subs.

If you look around the various forums and sale sites, you can easily get a feel for the models you are looking for.

Incorrect. Actual sale-market values are not that easy to find in my experience. There are thousands of sale ads, but I did not find a great deal of reliable info for what these models are actually trading for. I do thank you for your reply. |

you should email everyone on TRF and ask who they bought their watches from and how much. most ppl on here seem pretty open and honest.

Doubt very much that you'll find anything describing actual sales prices outside of eBay.
