Then you have this watch who's dial wasn't modded, it happened naturally and causes no harm if inspected properly, and people cry out obscenities....ugly, change it, damaged....come on people. Isn't this as much a part of Rolex history as anything else.
Once upon a time Rolex made "mistakes" and printed sticks on a dial of GMT2 and used a paint that cracked, etc....here's the watch, see.....

As to whether it warrants a premium, no! emphatically, just as I believe that an 16610LV or a GMT2 Pepsi with a 3186 doesn't warrant a premium. Yet many feel that's ok to mark them up, and though most on the forum say they won't pay it, there they are in the for sale section marked up, and eventually listed as sold. Someone is buying it, in the end who are we to judge. The general population wouldn't spend $10k on a watch either, yet here we are all of us in this forum buying multiples...
I agree. I find it a bit funny how people on this forum pick and choose the defects that they like and strongly dislike. If people are willing to pay extra for a spider dial, and the dial seems stable........let them be and quit harassing them. A person needs to see a spider dial in person to pass judgement. It is only noticeable at certain angles in certain light. I like it myself, but then I would........I like the quirky things about Rolex including Modifications.

The spider dial however looks like somebody took a blade and scratched up an perfectly good dial. It looks more like an act of vandalism than the cream colour.

Genuinely not meaning to rain on your parade here but it's not for me. I appreciate that there is a market for them, even at a premium, and for the people interested in that I hope they enjoy it.

Haha, sorry, reading back over my message I didn't mean the raining on your parade line to sound like it maybe did. I just meant, sorry for giving a negative post about the watch but it was just ny honest thoughts on it when compared to the cream or regular dials. I'm a firm believer in to each their own. Cheers
