From pictures, it is difficult to tell. In person, the Smurf has a more yellowish tint. The weight is a dead give away. After owning a PM Rolex, there is no way I would mod a SS version to "look" like a PM model. It feels so much better to wear the real deal.

Besides the obvious weight difference, white gold has a hue to it that cannot be duplicated with SS.

I came across this on ebay and couldnt believe the sellers are asking a 5k premium for the dial and bezel change so was curious as to whether or not people could actually tell the difference. i own several white gold pieces but from the pictures my eyes are not as trained as yall.
