Setting the Beat of A Watch Movement
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9tO...em-subs_digest
Hey Guys: Here is another video on regulating a watch movement. This time it is about how the "beat" of a watch can be set using the TIMEGRAPHER. In order to regulate a watch properly, the beat error needs to be zero or close to it....and the rate error needs to be a small as possible. The combination of the 2 gives you a watch that is as accurate as possible.

Escapement is in perfect beat, when the roller is in the line drawn between escape wheel pivot and balance wheel pivot, when the hairspring is at rest.
Much more things affect on the mathematical beat, which the timegrapher reading is. The reading you get from the timegrapher is "only" the time difference between tic & toc. |
