We have a very different attitude toward watches. I have a SS OP purchased new in 1986 which I have never brought in for maintenance. It is still keeping good enough time for me. One of the reasons I have never had it maintained is that an AD told me polishing is included in maintenance, something I don't want because I like all the dings and abrasions on the case and bezel. Some I can trace to specific events. I am afraid that if I brought it in for maintenance, that they would forget my instructions to not polish.
Who is Rolex to tell me I should have my watch polished? It's my watch, not theirs. I paid for it. |
